The Midday 10
The Midday 10 · 12:30 ET · 2026-07-24
A split tape with a rotation underneath: the season's best semiconductor print is being sold hard — Intel round-tripped its entire 12% after-hours gap and trades below yesterday's close — while ten of eleven S&P sectors are green, the Dow is up, and the two enterprise names that claimed the orchestration seat this week are being paid five to seven percent in daylight. The market is not leaving; it is re-seating. The tape at midday, in ten.

DOWN Intel — the gap did not survive an hour
INTC trades at 96.54, down 3.7% below yesterday's close — a full round-trip of the +12.4% after-hours gap and then some, roughly a fourteen-percent swing from last night's settle. The best numbers in fifteen years, sold: the turnaround was owned before the print existed, and this morning's Morning 10 named exactly this branch. The 3-0-7 record delivered its violence in both directions inside eighteen hours.

LEVEL SOXX — the band itself is under test
The semiconductor complex is the session's epicenter in reverse: SOXX at 528.49, down about 4%, trades inside and slightly below the old 530–532 breakout band for the first time since Tuesday's break — from nineteen points clear at yesterday's close to on the line in one session, the day after the season's best semi print. The internal hierarchy tells you what kind of selling this is: equal-weight XSD is down 5%, the cap-weighted SMH and SMHX around 3% — the megacaps holding best, the small and mid names bleeding worst. That is positioning being unwound from the speculative end inward, not conviction leaving the leaders. This is the structural line of the entire sequence; middays probe it, only the close scores it.

UP The orchestrators get paid in daylight
SAP surges 7.4% to 157.19 the day after its print — the regime break confirmed in cash, off the 52-week low area — and ServiceNow follows at +4.5% to 96.11, with IGV up 0.75% after five straight down days. On the same tape that sells the silicon, the market is buying the control plane: the rotation from collectors to orchestrators is running on the exact day today's Pulse mapped the contest.
